Brigitte Jarvis is an experienced and passionate storyteller working across multi-artform theatre, film, and television. With a deep fascination for the human psyche, her work blends the visually poetic with the heartfelt, the quirky, and the comically sharp.
After training in Fine Art and Acting in the UK, Brigitte moved to Australia fifteen years ago and became Artistic Associate of RAWcollective, a multi-artform theatre company. Over the following years she co-created several successful, locally funded multimedia works and discovered her joy for telling the stories she truly wanted to tell.
In 2016 she founded her production company, Wild Sage Pictures, through which she has created six short films and four web series - work that has earned multiple awards including Best Actress, Best Stage Adaptation, Best Sketch Comedy, and Best Film. Her most recent short, Stitch, was co-created with actor/musician Madison Daniel.
Having led over twenty creative projects since 2014, Brigitte has also expanded into production design and the facilitation of creative workshops. She now steps into a new chapter: a book of interconnected stories that will seed her next major theatre work.
The Little Barn residency arrives at a pivotal moment - a quiet, spacious pause after the book’s completion and before the theatre show begins to take shape. For Brigitte, whose life is often full and fast-moving, the residency in France offers the rare gift of uninterrupted time: a place to breathe, to listen deeply, and to write the earliest bones of a work that has been calling to her for years.
Brigitte's Event was a magical evening of storytelling in The Secret Garden. Our lovely audience brought their own picnics, enjoyed a class of wine and then settled into their garden chairs for the very first public reading from Brigitte's fables for adults.
Thank you to Brigitte and to VJ for videoing the whole event. I am looking forward to seeing the finished result!
