Thank You

The Little Barn would not exist without quite a lot of people.  Some are the craftsmen and trades who have done the physical work and others are friends and family.  So, in no particular order and please forgive me if anyone has been misssed.

Thank you to the 'trades' who have done the paid work: 

Tony, John, Rob, another John, Sean and Blackie.

Thank you to family for loans (since repaid) that enabled me to get on the property ladder and who have been generous at Christmas and birthdays so that I could book vans and ferry tickets and pay for various things I needed. Thanks for the storage of stuff and for being so encouraging. Thank you to my dad for giving me half of the money I needed to replace half of the roof (I am so grateful and so are the artists!)

Melanie (and Clive) who found TLB in the first place and who introduced me to the area and sparked a passion for brocantes. Thank you for letting me stay with you when the barn was not ready and for meals, coffees and friendship.

Grace - thank you for everything.  For the nights you listened to the moaning about doors and coped with my tears over how slow everything was. Thank you for the great chats, the vide greniers, the dancing to Northern Soul and all of the amazing food.  I still can't quite believe that you got me settled and then went back to Ireland!

Thank you to Anna for driving the van to move all of the photobooks from the UK to Vayres.  We have been friends since sixth form and it was great that you could help me with this tricky part of the move!

Thank you to Lyn for pulling down so much ivy, for driving me around, for lifting and storage and so much more.  To me, the barn was a dream made reality;  to you it became the 'effing barn' which was a bit annoying at times, but funny now.

Thank you to Coral who owned a house in the village for a short time and is loaning me The Secret Garden until I can raise the money to purchase it.  (Link to a GoFundMe here!)

Thank you to my awesome Vayres neighbours who were so brilliant when one of the artists arrived to find no power. Thank you for helping to fix the problem and for making her an omelette and bringing her coffee and pastries in the morning!  Thank you for being such fantastic people.  Especial thanks to Caroline and to Ann and Tony for the epic gardening help and to Maryanne and Tim for becoming real friends to both me and the project.

And finally, to Laurent. Thanks for being a great and most useful translator, companion, cleaner of stinky furniture, logo designer, provider of awesome courtyard lunches and someone to try to beat at cards. I need to find a game that I have a chance of winning.
